Leslie Milton Gurley, 79, of Malvern lost his battle to cancer on Tuesday, February 3, 2015. Leslie was born August 23, 1935 in Chewalla, TN to Artie (Johnson) and James Gurley. Leslie was the oldest of nine children. He was a quiet man with a great sense of humor. He loved animals and was a devoted family man. He had a true compassion for people. Leslie retired as a fireman in Malvern after serving this community for 43 years. He was also a member of 1st Baptist Church.
Leslie is predeceased by his parents and his aunt, Minnie Mae whom he loved like a mother.
Leslie is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mable (Stinson) Gurley of Malvern; sons, David (Reta) Gurley of Malvern and Leslie Gurley of OK; daughter, Gail Newton of North Little Rock; brothers, Billy and Donald; sisters, Loyce, Barbara, Sue, Glenda, Bobbie, and Bonnie; and three grandchildren.
